Why We Do What We Do
Since I was a kid, I have loved trees. The site of a tower redwood or pine struck me with utter amazement. Being in nature was always preferred to a classroom, and nothing was or is more peaceful to me.
Then I grew up. I learned about things like garbage island, deforestation, global warming, and well, how much of a disease humans can be to the planet. We are the flu that Earth can't seem to kick, but trees, those human cat towers I climbed as a child, could be the chicken noodle soup and fluids the Earth desperately needs to treat this nasty sickness.
Like humans, Earth is amazingly resilient and with a conscious decision to do better, we can make a difference.
Who Are We
We are a small team based out of Salt Lake City. For those of you that have been to Salt Lake City or any valley with large mountains, you know inversion can get trapped down in the valley, and the air quality is horrible. Breathing the air can feel like smoking a thousand cigarettes at times.
We talked to the top scientist at local universities and asked what we could do about the air quality. The overwhelming answer we got: Plant trees, so that's what we did.
So Where Are The Trees?
We currently work with the National Forest Foundation to plant the trees. The people at the National Forest Foundation are amazing, and they truly care. They are making a difference in our forests all over the world. Eventually, we would like to plant the trees ourselves, but for right now, they allow us to make the biggest impact.
